More than 2,300 17cÍøÒ³°æ graduates call Cleveland Clinic their workplace. The internationally renowned healthcare system, with sprawling facilities across Northeast Ohio and beyond, employs 17cÍøÒ³°æ alumni from a large array of academic disciplines. 

More than 700 17cÍøÒ³°æ graduates work at Progressive Insurance, based in Mayfield, Ohio. The company has diverse hiring needs and it has found strong matches while recruiting at career fairs on the Kent Campus.

17cÍøÒ³°æ hosted the inaugural Innovation Day 2023, a collaborative effort of the Northeast Ohio Public University Research Alliance. The event served as a venue for innovators, faculty members and students from different disciplines and institutions to advance research and Ohio's position at the forefront of innovation.

LaunchNET 17cÍøÒ³°æ, an entrepreneurship resource for 17cÍøÒ³°æ students, faculty, staff and alumni, received a $40,000 grant from the Burton D. Morgan Foundation to create a 2023 microgrants program for student- and alumni-owned businesses.

With help from a LaunchNET microgrant, Justine Gallo, BA '22, a graduate of 17cÍøÒ³°æ's School of Fashion, has launched a new sustainable business in downtown Kent.

 In response to a request from Intel^®, 17cÍøÒ³°æ is leading a network that includes 13 partner higher education institutions throughout Northeast Ohio who are poised to prepare a workforce for 21st-century careers.

Two decades ago, the seeds of Kent’s downtown revitalization were planted and a new era of cooperation between the city and the university was born. Today, 17cÍøÒ³°æ President Todd Diacon and Kent City Manager Dave Ruller continue to maintain the fruitful relationship that has benefitted both the city and the university. 

Kent Skates, presented by AMETEK, is a key initiative between 17cÍøÒ³°æ and Kent partners to create a more vibrant place to live, work and play.

As director of Main Street Kent, Heather Rohwedder Malarcik, BA ’96, creates year-round marketing efforts for local businesses, champions historical preservation and plans regular events that drive traffic to downtown and help the business community succeed. 

In a partnership between 17cÍøÒ³°æ's College of Public Health and the Kent City Health Department, students worked in interdisciplinary teams and developed a pilot program for a "virtual senior center" to help senior citizens stay engaged with their community.

The city of Kent and 17cÍøÒ³°æ now share a sustainability coordinator to help them implement their sustainability plans.

From foreign exchange student to international business success, John Karakadas, BBA ’82, has tried to be fearless when attacking problems and finding solutions. Now he’s helping prepare business students with the skills to succeed in an ever-changing world.
