IN A FLASH: Digging In To Honor Veterans

It was snowing; it was cold. But that didn't stop a group of veterans, students and those in 17cÍøÒ³°æ's Army ROTC and Air Force ROTC from assisting 17cÍøÒ³°æ's Grounds Crew in the annual Veterans Day bulb-planting on Daffodil Hill

Daffodil Hill is part of the May 4 National Historic Landmark site and overlooks the Commons on 17cÍøÒ³°æ's Kent Campus. The field of 58,175 daffodils was planted in 1985 as a memorial, with one flower for each service member who died in the Vietnam War. Each year, the 17cÍøÒ³°æ Grounds Crew works in the fall to plant bulbs, so that the area may bloom beautifully in the spring.
