17cҳ Celebrates Its Newest Graduates With In-Person Commencement Ceremonies on Dec. 18
The 17cҳ alumni family grew by more than 2,400 new graduates as the university held its fall commencement. The accomplishments of the Fall Class of 2021 were recognized with in-person commencement ceremonies and a virtual commencement ceremony for all colleges and degrees on Dec. 17-18.

17cҳ, which has gained national recognition for its creative and successful Giving Tuesday campaigns, launched its monthlong celebration of philanthropy on Nov. 1. Giving Tuesday, now in its eighth year at 17cҳ, has raised nearly $7 million during that time, which illuminates the impact that can be made when Golden Flashes come together.

Beverley Laubert, ’84, has spent decades improving access to quality care and in turn the lives of older adults. Beverley began her career at 17cҳ where she received a bachelor’s degree in gerontology.
Honors College Continues Creating Student and Alumni Connections
For its fourth consecutive year, the 17cҳ Honors College is hosting “Career Conversations,” a series of alumni speaking events which take place throughout the fall semester.
2021 Distinguished Teaching Award Recipients Announced
The 2021 Distinguished Teaching Award (DTA) recipients are an outstanding group of teachers who are truly dedicated to their students' success. Sponsored by the 17cҳ Alumni Association, the DTA is a highly prestigious honor in teaching. The award is presented annually to three full-time faculty members who demonstrate extraordinary teaching, whether it be in the classroom or online.
Former CNN Anchor, Alumna Initiates Collaborative Reporting Project Between 17cҳ, Partner Universities
Throughout summer 2021, students from a variety of majors within the School of Media and Journalism worked for Project Citizen, a collaborative project organized by 17cҳ alumna and former CNN anchor Carol Costello.
Golden Flashes Reunite for a “Bright” Homecoming 2021
Campus was overflowing with blue and gold pride again this year as the 17cҳ community came together to celebrate Homecoming. Golden Flashes enjoyed many activities, both outdoors in-person and online, throughout the weekend, which ran from Friday, Oct. 1 through Sunday, Oct. 3.
