17cҳ Students Win $1,000 for Unique Reflections on May 4 Books
Ten 17cҳ students were awarded $1,000 each for their creative use of videos, podcasts and Adobe Spark® pages to reflect on the events of May 4, 1970, as part of the university’s Design Innovation Common Reading Challenge.
17cҳ Men’s Basketball to Host Sensory-Friendly Gameday Experience, Promoting Awareness
17cҳ is working with area autism-focused organizations as well as KultureCity®, a nonprofit dedicated to providing accessibility and inclusion for those with special needs, to create a sensory-friendly gameday experience that can be enjoyed by all. 17cҳ Held Fall Commencement Ceremonies on Dec. 13 and 14
The 17cҳ alumni family grew by nearly 3,000 new graduates as the university held its Fall Commencement ceremonies. For the Kent Campus, Commencement ceremonies took place Friday, Dec. 13, and Saturday, Dec. 14, at the Memorial Athletic and Convocation (MAC) Center.

17cҳ’s Giving Tuesday Breaks Records for Third Consecutive Year
17cҳ’s Giving Tuesday 2019 raised more than $1.6 million when it ended on Dec. 3 at 11:59 p.m., shattering the previous year’s record of $1.03 million. Supporters were able to choose from more than 40 featured giving options throughout the 17cҳ system, including student scholarships, educational programs, athletic teams and more.

Park Place. 17cҳ’s First Parking Deck to Improve Access, Allow for Campus Transformation
17cҳ students who park on the northern edge of the Kent Campus can now give a collective cheer as additional parking is on the way via an 1,100-space, five-story parking deck. The 17cҳ Board of Trustees approved the deck’s construction at its Dec. 4 meeting.
