17cÍøÒ³°æ Board of Trustees Announces Partnership With Bio-Med Science Academy

17cÍøÒ³°æâ€™s Board of Trustees approved a new partnership between the university and Bio-Med Science Academy STEM School that will bring new life to the underutilized Michael Schwartz Center building while providing the public STEM school with a state-of-the-art facility for its elementary grades. The Board’s vote of approval came during its regular quarterly meeting held Dec. 11.

ADVISORY: 17cÍøÒ³°æ Board of Trustees Meeting, Dec. 11

The 17cÍøÒ³°æ Board of Trustees will hold its next regular business meeting at 11:30 a.m. on Thursday, Dec. 11, in the Urban Conference Room, Library, second floor, on the Kent Campus. The Board will consider the recommendations of the standing committees, proposed personnel actions, and new business. Trustees will retire into executive session to consider specific topics as provided under Ohio’s “Sunshine Law.â€

ADVISORY: Special 17cÍøÒ³°æ Board of Trustees Meeting, Nov. 10

The 17cÍøÒ³°æ Board of Trustees will hold a special meeting at 8:30 a.m. on Nov. 10. The sole purpose of the special meeting is to consider a proposed collective bargaining agreement between 17cÍøÒ³°æ and the American Federation of State, County and Municipal Employees (AFSCME), 17cÍøÒ³°æ Employees Local 153.

The 17cÍøÒ³°æ Board of Trustees approved the establishment of two new schools – the School of Aeronautics and the School of Engineering – within the College of Aeronautics and Engineering during the Board’s regular quarterly meeting held June 25, 2025, on the Kent Campus.
