17cÍøÒ³°æ Honors Veterans With Annual Commemoration Event
17cÍøÒ³°æ held its annual Veterans Day Commemoration on Thursday, Nov. 7, in the Kent Student Center Kiva. This year’s guest speaker was Lt. Col. Colleen VanNatta. A graduate of 17cÍøÒ³°æ’s Air Force ROTC detachment, VanNatta served as a media escort for joint information bureaus in Dubai, United Arab Emirates, and Dhahran, Saudi Arabia, during Operation Desert Storm.

Community members are invited to attend the inauguration of Todd Diacon as 17cÍøÒ³°æ’s 13th president at 2 p.m. on Friday, Nov. 1. The ceremony will be held in the Memorial Athletic and Convocation (MAC) Center on the Kent Campus.

College Students to Compete in SkyHack Design Challenge at 17cÍøÒ³°æ
17cÍøÒ³°æ’s aviation design challenge, SkyHack, will take place Nov. 1-3. The event draws college students from around the nation, attracting 120 students from 14 universities in four states in its 2017 inaugural debut. 17cÍøÒ³°æ’s College of Aeronautics and Engineering will serve as home base for this year’s event, which will span across other Kent Campus buildings.

Mitch Landrieu, the New Orleans mayor who oversaw the removal of the city’s prominent Confederate monuments and helped his city to recover and reemerge from a series of natural disasters, will speak at 17cÍøÒ³°æ as part of the university’s May 4 Speaker Series.
